Our Story
I was born and raised on a small island in Nagasaki, Japan.
When I was in high school, my greatest excitement during school holidays was taking the ferry to Fukuoka to go shopping.
More than twenty years ago, vintage clothing and street fashion were everywhere.
Inspired by people expressing their individuality through fashion, I spent countless hours exploring vintage stores.
One day, I found a bright red college-logo cap.
The moment I put it on, I felt more confident.
Before long, it became something I wore almost every day.
Looking back, it wasn't just another fashion accessory.
It had become something I couldn't imagine my daily life without.
That experience inspired a simple dream:
"Someday, I want to create hats that become essential to someone else's life."
That dream became ReqHatter.
The Meaning Behind Our Name
The name "Req" comes from the word "Required."
Our goal isn't simply to sell hats.
